Intel has been working hard lately to make a name for itself in the mobile world, but so far we haven’t really seen a high-profile device come to market bearing an “Intel Inside” stamp. That could change very soon, though, as aReuters source claims that Samsung has chosen to use an Intel processor to power its upcoming Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 tablet.
According to the report, at least one version of the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 will feature Intel’s Clover Trail+ chip when it comes to market. There’s no mention of why Samsung chose an Intel chip for the Tab 3 10.1 or what the rest of the tablet’s spec list will include (though 10.1-inch display seems likely, given the product’s name and all). It’s also unclear when Samsung might announce this Intel-powered slate, but the company does have an event scheduled for June 20 at which it will introduce at least one new Galaxy-branded device, so that’s certainly a possibility.
